So there's been lack of updates, but what can I say we've been super busy writing new material so all my energies have been focused there. Jacquelinne has been setting up shows and I've been looking for MGMT for the band, cuz well we want to bring our brand of rocknroll to the masses..YOU. SPREAD. ENJOY. Have some fuckin' Fun.

[Random note: just got a call from my old man telling me," Don't be a dog on a leash working for some chump, make it happen."]

Anyhow we've been working on our favorite song, "RIDE THE WILD," by the first line-up of the Descendants. It came out for their first 7" in '79. I recorded a rehersal of it on my cell phone so it sounds shitty, but who gives a fuh, it's rad to me. I even sorta synched it to a silent film FAUST by F.W. Murnau.....liebe

Tonight we'll be doing a pre-recorded in-studio performance for KXLU for DJ Jen, a very nice girl that's been giving us a lot of support and love andcheck out her blog, HERE.
The show will be airing early Friday morning from 6am-10am so either stay up or make yourself get up early make some strong ass coffee, listen, go back to sleep, collect un-employment checks, or go to work/school...as Kells would say, "whatevs."
Speaking of Kells, we love him, he's the sweetheart of the band and a silly billy.

Not that we’re complaining: Jacqueline Cingolani’s insanely sexy vocals give us chills that rival anyone else’s attempts (interpret that as you will) and the band’s overall tone seems to take a leaf from Serge Gainsbourg’s Histoire de Melody Nelson – resulting in a classic, enlivening melodical/lyrical envelopment.

Every now and then we bring to light an act that not only works their sound with inspiration, respect and ingenuity but with genuine swagger, thereby taking us by surprise. Spirit Vine's Golden is a 3 song EP of liquid psychedelic blues complete with fiery vocals and a heap of solid rock energy. The band can certainly jam out and the songs wind about themselves like smart dragon children wearing pigtail preserves for a necklace. All in all, Golden is a sweet grinding of well-informed hallucinogenic sound waves that would probably keep swimming about for months if left to their own devices...3 out of 4 stars!

Shitchyea! Any-hoo whats more better than that? Oh yea Neil Young asking us to tour with him, that would be a cherry on my top hat---yes, I own one. Also in the news we are almost in the finalization of our tour for the end of MAY/JUNE so we'll keep you posted on that beautiful mess.

When it Rains...

While I'm enjoying the rumble of storm and lightning, enjoy this review we just received a review of our ep GOLDEN via a new issue of the latest LA RECORD.

Picture yourself on a boat on a river, riding on the wave of a musical crescendo as you're taken by a hazy groove and the swell of an organ ... and then the drugs take effect. The new EP from Los Angeles-based quintet Spirit Vine offers three psychedelically fueled tracks that syn-esthetically alter the senses and tantalize the ear's taste buds. Entitled Golden, the EP begins with a track of the same name; however, the songs on the release are more of a dirty, whirling kaleidoscope of sound-an intoxicating blend of soulful vocals, insightful lyrics, incendiary tone, heavy bass and pulsing rhythm.
The title track features time changes that slow down and speed up in awesome form that return to a hook telling us we're "nothing but a state of mind." Following that is the track "Lazy Son," with Gabriel Pacheco (guitar/vocals) singing lead, portraying a title character who is "a piece of everyone," while Jacquelinne Cingolani (vocals) and the rest of the band harmonize with reverb-drenched vocals. And the final track, "Roam," is so good it defies description! Despite each song's epic length of over five minutes per track, the new EP is so good, I feel I owe the band gas money for the trip.

Yea we're working on new material and getting to record another record. Steven has been working on ideas for the art work and such for the new cover and well we've been workin on new songs. It's not so much a new direction but a fresher approach with all its vineholes glory. Anyhoo make it out this coming Monday we'll be performing with the Useless Keys, it's their residency, along with The Arms and HUGE SPECIAL GUEST, which we're not aloud to say. Did I mention its FREE, plus Mondaze are a bummer, so come drink you're Monday blues away.

I wish I could write more than I think, but find it's a waste of time today, I'm too amped bout the latest press we've been getting. Year 1 lil' babies! Anyway I find myself in a total positive vibe today, feelin' real good, but not cuz of the press, there's something in the air. Could be a smog high or lack of cuz its a beautiful day, but whatever it is, I'm buzzing.
Right now the world's generations are becoming a dying breed, I've been waiting for the moment to knock down them house of cards. The young are a visceral breed, we've spent the better part of our innocence taught to follow rules, when the young know better than anyone that it's all about having a good time and being good at it.
As you get older some folks get past it, call you naive and all that, but the point of it all and maybe the point I'm getting at is that it's ok. You get old, but the thing that keeps you young is finding the moment when the phone rings, you listen to the other end, you put the phone on hold, and when you're done you hang up and call the next person. Its our turn ya ol' geezers, times up!

Since self-releasing a homemade disc in late 2008, Los Angeles’ Spirit Vine has been sharpening its licks and putting teeth into its desert sun-blistered brand of psychedelia. The results, so far, are “Golden.” The quintet’s new EP by that name offers three bone-rattlers that lean toward the brashest of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club’s material, and the trippy ’60s stuff that influenced it. The title track is a big, noisy dust-up between vocals, guitars and cymbals, complete with tempo changes that feel like they could change weather patterns. The band — Jacquelinne Cingolani, Gabriel Pacheco, Aaron Bustos, Aaron James and Kelly Wininger — is recording more material with Anthony Caruso; release plans aren’t yet final.

Coming correct with nasty guitars, a hollow and spacious organ sound, and a thick psychedelic blues flavor with spring reverb permeating throughout, Spirit Vine is the type of super retro tent revival that garage rock needs some more of. With great reverence toward the holiest of holies – 13th Floor Elevators, Blue Cheer, and The Seeds – Spirit Vine pulls out the bluesier movements in the Nuggets catalog, dusts ‘em off, and slows that shit down to a syrupy pace. The result is a driving, groovy, peyote-fueled swamp rock vision quest.
Though not necessarily groundbreaking, Spirit Vine, as demonstrated with “Golden,” is thoroughly solid and crafty. Moreover, it was a welcome reprieve from all the, I dunno, fucking retarded Neon Indian mixes people send me. I hate music sometimes.
I expect Ecstatic Peace to give these guys a call soon, lest I go find Thurston myself and put one of his guitars in standard E tuning when he’s not looking just to fuck with him. The band’s web presence is over here.

Despite buckets o’ rain and a stubborn cold that left me sniffling like a cokehead beagle, I grabbed at the chance to go to Spaceland for Lemon Sun’s last show of the year. I lucked into Spirit Vine’s set, with sultry-voiced Jacquelinne fronting a fine and insouciant psych-blues whirlwind already in progress and well-advanced, to judge from the flushed, giddy faces in the back. Unless you’re the kind of antiquarian with gigabytes and silicon stacks of Sweetwater, Feminine Complex, Rain Parade and 13th Floor Elevators LPs, the audacious spin this band puts on the genre effectively kicks the listener’s ass twice—once pro forma and the second time in appreciation of the clever variations they make on the heritage. Their set was over too soon, but the wait was happily short for the headliners.

A new band out of Los Angeles, Spirit Vine, has captured the essence of the peace and love movement of the late 60s. From the moment I heard their contribution to the Psyilocybin Sounds compilation Open Your Mind, a song titled 1122, I felt an overwhelming feeling of joy, relaxation, and a general sense of well-being envelope me. As the song went on, so did the lovely feelings it evokes. So the song 1122 went on repeat.

Now as I listen to all of the songs Spirit Vine has put to play on their MySpace, I want to share them with my fellow psycho-nauts. Jacquelinne has the voice: soulful and introspective. Gabriel sometimes sings with her, creating the male-female vocal stylings that give shivers. I could listen to this all day. Ain't it Strange...

So its been an interesting week, but anyhoo all is well. We played down in Lake Forest, CA. with the Silent Comedy (San Diego), and some others. We got lost and showed up a few minutes late, but non the less we delivered. On the way back though there was a FWY Detour, I got a bit lost near Anaheim, Aaron fell asleep cuddled with all the gear in the back but we got back home. I bring that up though because thats twice this week, the first was at our friends show, Ojos Rojos, in Claremont, at the Press. Could this be a sign that I or we have burned the road to hard. Well, whatever the case, Spirit Vine have alot of surprises and revamps for you.
Well anyway the following day after the show I had an interesting morning. First off I had woken up to my cell phone ringing, followed by my neighbors arguing while brushing my teeff, and well I felt someone knocking on my door. I proceeded to grab a pen and paper to jaut down inspiration. I visited my favorite website, BOOGIE WOOGIE FLU, there they had a post on Jack Kerouac's death anniversary [40 years this past Friday], and below it a post on a jazz legend, Johnny Hodges. The song for download was "Passion Flower."
At first listen, the song immediately put me in a contemplative state, a good nature, I was back lying on some pasture, with my hat over my eyes, with a cigarette stuck on my bottom lip, my coat hanging on some limb, and the Fall's easy breeze. At that moments travel the song had ended and brought me back here, with my pen on paper.
A few hours had passed and I headed down hill to fill my 1 gallon plastic collection of water containers at the local Carneceria. I ran into a drunkard laying down on the corner and had an interesting exchange of words. When I came back home I was compelled to write seeing as how my day had changed and my mood now light like a feather, I knew what I could say.

Damn, she took my lighter, but left my cigarettes,
She left my gun without any of my bullets.
The old haggard bitch, "Awake," she curses, you fool,
my neighbor, a sweet conductor for all the late morning to hear,
her bells ring harder than any alarm clock singing.
But later on walking down the block thee Old Great Salvadorean Drunkard hollers,
"Tienes cambio joven?"
"Thats what I want!"
But regretfully that's not what he wants.
So the funniest thing that occurred to me
when I filled up my gallons with water,
a hole just poked out and poured water on my boot.
So on the way back I could reply,
" un trago de aqua, senor?"
"A bucket of water, I sure do, con dios bendiga."
Now thee Old Great Salvadorean Drunkard may walk better, go on, resume.
Ain't it funny what a stranger can do to you.

I see a bad moon risin' but that's the way it is, everyone is out for the same thing and that's a good thing.

but on a more retarded note i can not express how badly the MTV VMAs were because they do a good job, but it was entertaining to watch, as we all know that i love a good car crash with a box of popcorn. but the one thing i will say is kudos to taylor swift, poor girl, confused, overwhelmed by the fact that some nimrod can still manage to misbehave after considering he is in no way making us believe that passion and talent co-exist. he on the other hand has the talent for opening his mouth for all the wrong reasons. " i speak the truth and nothing but the truth so help me god, but did i mention i'm a good liar." you can qoute ME on that. what happened to a little bit of chivalry?
and on a more even less retarded note, the viners are playing a festival on SEPT 27th, long hair illuminatti, yeah it should be killer. and hmmm what could i leave out, ah yes once we get some cash flow we should be putting out an EP, more info on that.

True words from one human being that broke and shook the shit out of a bored neighborhood,state,city,and world. Its kinda weird feeling gloomy because I never got to experience The Stooges as a young lad as I was not even born yet, but discovering them for the first time in my bedroom in [small, college, air force base town]Abilene, Texas was a true release. I immediately forgot about all the music I was into at the time and played the Stooges all the time. The kids in that town never got it, but I didn't care it was the best truth that anyone hadnt spoken.

Anyway its a bummer that we had to lose an inspiring guitarist such as Ron, he influenced so many, and because of the Stooges we have so many great records today. It's guitar players and really, human beings like Ron that I look up too, because he fused simplicity and passion in his music and to me thats the only thing that matters in anything you do.
So to all the fans of the Stooges and Ron Asheton, play all first 3 albums REALLY LOUD.

I swear every time I listen to Love & Rockets, they always put me in a good "badass" mood. Its like when you walk into an old bar, and all it is, is just silence. A million stories to be gulped down, and that perfect stranger that you could talk for hours bout anything and nothing, and at times enjoy a quiet moment to gulp down a long days hustle.

But any-hoooooo, the band is doin great, gettin ready to get on that road for our tour. Over the weekend we worked, or should say recorded a new song called, "Holy Day." The recording on this is fantastic, we're all pretty proud of it and we're excited to let y'all listen to it.

In more related and the not so related second cousin in news is this gas price bullshit. Yeah it sucks for those with a car. I'm one those lucky people that dont have a car and that walks round LA, yeah I know I hate that song too. But yeah they were saying the cause of the rise in prices, has actually brought down traffic and car accidents, hmmmm something to think bout. Maybe these oil Freaks aren't so bad after all, maybe they're on to something?? hey we're all human right, aren't we all allowed one mistake. We're all born into where we fall. I say bring back dirt roads and horses, or maybe just build a bullet train that goes down to Mexico (everywhere), I dont know, I never have an answer, but I can answer back.

So yeah alot has happened, we got Check 1,2 Indie Artist of the day and have been getting airplay on Mr. Shovel's show. When we come back from tour, we'll have more songs to record and to give out, with tons more shows happening in October and in November. Yeah..and thats all I got folks. I'll sleep when I die, PEACE!

...so I haven't posted here in a while, but as you know I'm a busy man, making no plans but keepin tha' dream a'livuh.
We've been workin on new material and finalizing the tour, we're super excited to get on the road and share the love with y'all out there and make new friends. We'll have the EP to give out, buttons and stickers to hand out. And also, also when we come back from tour we'll have tons a more shows for y'all to come out and check out, now....
Here's the news in rock so far so to speak, so speak it: I pre-ordered the new Darker My Love|2 album, and man-o-man, its BOSS. I'm thinkin' these duders are gonna blow up, and good for them they deserve it. I would have to say they're the only RocknRoll band doing anything worth while in music so far and being played on the radio. Hopefully their success produces some good music and a change in weather. But anyway pick that sucker up and catch their show @ the Troubadour this Thursday! I'll be there with grass and wine.
Also if you haven't checked on The Last Waltz: The Band by Martin Scorescissors, buy it now, even if you dont appreciate it (if you're young in your teens), you will in the future, trust me, hell, force yourself. We've been going gonzo for this DVD lately, Danko, Robertson, Hudson, Manuel, and Helm, fuck they're all great! My favs are performances they do with Neil Young [you can still see the coke in his nose], Dylan, Clapton, Morrison, Staple Singers, Muddy Wata'ss, Dr. John, and of course the ones without guests. Plus the shit they talk bout between the live stuff is do die for man. History man, history. Stay fresh and clean and keep that third eye open wide, cherrio.

This is a call to everyone and all, we're goin' down up that plain, planning on seeing light, hopping on a riverboat to see my friends, we're forever goin' on vacation man, why dont you come along, we'll wait forever...

So for the past I dont know five months we've been a band and busting our apple bottoms to the core with more drive left over. We just got word that they played us on Indie 103.1 on Sunday for Check One...Two with Mr. Shovel, thanks man! So 2nite we're celebrating, goin off, as they say at a Rocking Horse People's show @ Silverlake Lounge with our newest friends from Portland,OR, the Pink Snowflakes, Chief Nowhere, and Flesh Unitard. So if you're not doin' anything, come on down, you'll be a guest on the price is right-ly so into the gutter. It's a celebration!

If ya came to the show on Saturday, thank you. That was a fun night wasn't it? If I can remember that whole day was a rush, we had a photoshoot with Karri Bowman, we'll unveil those really soon, possibly tomorrow on our myspace. Pigged out out on some grilled cheese sandwiches and then headed straight to the show where we graciously went OFF with the Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey masks they had. I have to say though I was pretty disapointed they didnt have Moon and Entwistle, whats up with that VH1 ? Well anyway if ya watched the recent document on the Who, Gabe and I did our best impression of Pete, when he goes up to the Sex Pistols, and drunkenly asks, "Who Are You?" Funny shite mann! Anyway it was a fun night, thanks everyone.

Anyhoo I made a couple of musical buys o'varh the weekend and bought the documentary SMiLE, ya know that long awaited album that Brian Wilson never released due to mental illness, all that LSD, turmoil in the group, and what have youzzz. Yah watched that baby and fell immediately in love with that album. I'll admit though when I first heard it when it came out I wasnt really too impressed with it. Or maybe it was just the hype, who knows, at first listen I liked the songs, it was pretty good I guess, but I dont know I couldnt really appreciate it after being a huge fan of PET SOUNDS, but after watching the story behind SMiLE, I took another listen and realized that I was wrong, dead wrong. Sorry Brian. The dvd comes with a live performance, where it shows Sir Macca giving praise to Brian and of course tons of ideas to borrow. Go Buy it!

Second buy was this band I got into last year, Flat Duo Jets, [watch this old ass clip of them] and a recent one I picked up on a whim, Cass McCombs. I picked up Safari by the Flat Duo Jets, and Dropping the Writ by Cass McCombs.
Safari is pretty good with mostly home recordings/live and a couple actual recorded songs, but non the less its raw, traditional and new to my ears. You can see why people like Cat Power or Jack White give total praise to this guy, Dexter Romweber.
The other Dropping the Writ, I would have to say at first listen, was really impressed being I didnt know anything bout this guy, and enjoyed the album, but unfortunatley when I listened to it again I had doubts. So I dont know bout that one yet. Its funny how some albums sound different each time you listen to it, never the same, and maybe thats a sign of a good album, it keeps you coming back. Who knows just listen right? Right...and one last thing I updated our muxtape with some new tunes, check it sun, CHEERS!

Hello to everyone in TV land, ..yeah man, thats right, to all dem dreamers out there, just change the channel and you'll find the right place, so sit back and dig a trip.
So if any of you have noticed, who frequent our myspace, you'll see that we posted the final mixed, mastered demo. Whad'ya think? I think its pretty fuckin rockin man, we're all so proud, with all the hard labor that was put into it and patience, it sounds FANTASTIC! [remember when George Martin says that in the Anthology, when John is trippin', yeah well read that sentence again and say it in a pseudo English "act-sent."]
So yeah if ya haven't listened to the songs go do that NOW ! Also I got an email from Steven Fiche, the art work for our logo, which by the way is amazing, thanks STEVE! Kells is gonna take that design and get it on his drum head, with a few surprises in store. And over the 3 day weekend, [if ya have a job] we'll be putting together our demo packaging. Jackie has already started, but we'll be mass producin' like weapons for war, so all of you that have been patient for the past I dont know, how long have I BEEN SAYIN we'll have the demos ready? Yeah you know. Anyway along with all the drink, good times, and roasting in the sun with beautiful people all this will get done.
So anyhowl I bought that Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers: Runnin Down A Dream [the riff should be playin in yo head right now, "duh na na na na na NAH nah nah"] and man oh man its so good, considering I knew nothing of his history or the bands', just really loved his music instantly as a kid, ya know, like the Beatles. But some of you naysayers may disagree as I heard some folks say he's a wannabe DYLAN. Yeah, OK whats wrong with that, DYLAN is by far the most influential and the coolest motherfucker on the planet. Who doesnt wanna be DYLAN. But yeah the movie is great 4 hours long with tons of stuff on all the coke sniffin,' music, and how Badass Mike Campbell Soup is at guitar. I think he's my new fav or one of...and whats up with Stevie Nicks? I think she had a little crush on Tom, I wonder if he blew coke up her apple bottoms? But lets not get into that, the movie is great with a few postcards, live concert, and soundtrack, GO BUY IT!
I also happened to buy the new Black Mountain "In the Future", well actually its been out for a while, but I just got around to buying it, I'm lazy like that, plus with all the downloadin I do you lose track of stuff like that and considering that, that band and Darker My Love [and Oasis, I dont think the others in the band share the same love as I do for those madchesters] are the only bands, young bands, first two, doing something really cool with music. But yeah its a great album and you should buy that too, plus it came with an extra cd which is not included on the cd song listing on the back.
But anyway everyone have a safe and wreckless weekend, dont let the cops catch ya, and if they do tell judge "it was ALLLL RIGHT"

So yeah I haven't updated on here, cuz we've been super busy getting our tour together. Yes folks thats right a mother fuckin tour, west coast to be exact ! BOO YEAH !
We'll be on tour with ROCKING HORSE PEOPLE, going from San Diego all the way up to Portland. Its gonna be a blazz, sex, lots of drugs, and even more rocknroll for all you kiddies out there. This weekend we'll be mastering the demo and making our packaging for it. So now anyone that wants one of those puppies will get good delight.
We've got Steven Fiche workin on art work for us and its looking really good, so cant wait to unveil that to you, and well we've just been really busy. Gabe has been working on new material for the band, I've been booking [also working on my own project DVG], Jackie has been designing, coming up with concepts for the packaging, and Kells has been mixing and getting ready for mastering. Also RHP Aaron is having a blast with his band, writing new material, and gettin into trouble. Yeah thats how you do it kids, stay busy productive on them dreams and always have FUN.
But enough of that, but more of this, we'll be attending a Spaceland show this Monday so if you're bored go to that thing cuz we'll be handing out demos, plus its free. Get too it, take heed!
Anyhoo over the weekend I went and grabbed some good readin' BOMP: Saving the World One Record at a Time! and Psychotic Reactions and Carburetor Dung: The Work of a Legendary Critic: Rock'N'Roll as Literature and Literature as Rock 'N'Roll. The first being bout legendary, RIP, Greg Shaw and the second on the writings of Lester Bangs, legandary, RIP, music critic.

Yeah, so over the weekend we got the mixes done, check them out at our myspace and let us know what you think. We'll be making hand made packaging for the demos to give out to y'all so you can enjoy and get some cool art with the music.
Anyone do anything interesting over the weekend? No ? Yes ? Maybe so....yeah well I headed down to the never disapointing city of Long Beach to check out BRMC, Black Angels, and the Warlocks at the Ink-N-Iron Festival.
It was ok, I didnt get to check out the Pin-Up girl contest, or the tattoo artist, they had that on lock down, but I did get to scope out all the Hot-Rods, and motor bikes. Never seen so many beauties in my life, every car fixed to perfection, and the few fully restored Triumphs I saw, man o' man, I just wanted to steal and ride off with one.
Anyway the bands played in this dome, which was OK. I kinda stood in the back, and the sound was ok, it didnt really fill in the dome, which was a bummer. I missed the Warlocks cuz tickets supposedly were not to be sold after 10, which was crap, but I managed to get a few tickets sold to us and made it in to see the Black Angels half way through their set. They were OK, like I said the sound there wasn't that great so the bands didnt get much justice, even for the BRMC, who played a long ass set. My highlight was when Robert grabbed the acoustic and played a stripped down version of "Sympathetic Noose". Pretty nice and then after two hours of playing they stopped cuz the Fire Marshall was there and said no more rocknroll.

Best weekend ever for Spirit Vine...

shityea! Yes, it was the best weekend ever. First off I took a day tripper to San Diego on Friday, made it back way ahead before our show, driving fast down that highway like a paragraph out of On the Road.
Celebrated Gabes birthday with a buzzing phenomenal white light, white heat show, amazing show, and then at the end invited everyone over to the Monthlies' loft, and just proceeded to get more toasted then ever. Oh and by the way if you have pictures of the show please send to the above email address you see on top, thanks !
Then last night I went to see BRMC for free at the Anaheim House of Fools at Dizzyland, great, heavy, performance, right up in front. And to top it off Peter Hayes came out to greet his fans, which was super rad man! Anyhoo hope all of you had a great one as well.

Yes folks its Gabes motherfuckin birthday bash, come you, come all, but come all at once ! It'll be a fuckin blazz !
Yeah I havent posted here in a week or so, but I've been busy livin it up so to speak. Yeah, it was an ok Memorial Day weekend, got really wasted on Saturday nite, went to go see Kelly's other band he plays for, and who he toured with these last few weeks, My Imaginary Friends. Theyre pretty good and you should check them out, plus they're dropping Anti- Records as their favorite label.
And thats another thing you should check out, + they've put out great records from the likes of Billy Bragg, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, the late Porter Wagoner, the late Elliot Smith, Tom Waits, Neko Case, Mavis Staples, Ramblin' Jack Elliot, and many other great artist I'm sure you can sink your teeth into.
But anyhoo back to the weekend, yeah, stayed in bed all day, watched the tons of tube, watched movies, check out Ned Kelly [Mick Jagger comes out in a sixties version of Australia's notorious outlaw], tried watching Citizen Kane but couldn't get into that boringness and listened to some new music I got, The Kinks "Lola Vs. Powerman & the Money go round," Tom Petty's "Wildflowers," The Replacments re-issue of "Let it Be," and lastly Elliot Smith's first album, which by the way is ok. There's only a few songs I can get into and even through out his whole repertoire, but non the less, he's committed and a good one. I do suggest picking up, "New Moon." That, I could get into, plus there's a cover of THIRTEEN, by Big Star, from "#1 Record/Radio City." Big ups too Alex Chilton, woot woot!
Anyway enough ramblin', everyone have a good day and make sure to come out Friday for Gabes b-day bash, it'll mean alot to him, and make sure to check out our Muxtape later on today, I'll be posting new songs on there, later duders!

peep this if you haven't seen it PAT GARRETT & BILLY THE KID, starring Kris Kristofferson as Billy the Kid, James Coburn as Pat Garrett, and Bob Dylan as Alias, and who also did the film's score, which by the way is really really good. It contains Dylan's "Knockin' on Heaven's Door," which by the way is a damn good song, hits you in the gut man. Anyway hope everyone is having a good day, cheerios!

first off we'd like to thank everyone that came out on Saturday, the plague of beetles with an "a," and to the nice stove top asphalt weather, and to our friends, RHP.
All and all the show was fun, but the RELAX bar is crap, 10 bucks for parking, 5 bucks for the people on the guest list, 10 for those that aren't, and not only that the door guy wanted to play door nazi?.... Yeah thats the first and last time we do that shite.
And then one of the touring bands wanted to complain that no one was there for them so they wanted us to play first ??? Come on dude we feel for you, but can you use some lube the next time you wanna fuck. Next time book a show @ the SMELL, at least they'd be a bit more respectable to you.
But like I said we had our friends there and thats all that mattered. But do not play at the RELAX Bar, because its nothin close to being relaxing.
After that we headed out to grab alcohol, cigarettes, and goodies, to go party at our buddies Wes' loft, where he has a huge projector, [we watched JOOLS HOLLAND], got lifted, drank, and had a huge jam session. I mostly remember playing "Rain" by the Beatles, but other than that it was a fun night.
Oh and on that note if you're not a huge REPLACEMENTS fan, which you should be, Kells was mentioning the other night those guys will be touring soon! Woohoo! And that Chris Mars will not be playing drums, boooo, but that the band will be holding up auditions!
And Kells is gonna go for it. Lets root for him when it happens. And on another note, you should pick up their re-Released stuff that came out, and check out our updated MUXTAPE, ....OK BYE.

Yeah well, I went to Sunny San Diego over the weekend, and well I guess it was ok, took the Greyhound, or I should say "GrreeHound." Thats how the guy next to me called it. I guess it was a productive trip, I wrote a little something on the way back. Actually that whole trip was gloomy, anyhoo...
I woke up this morning, called my voicemail, and there was a call from non-other, my sister and brother, JABELS. Yeah, it was pretty entertaining, it made my morning, thanks guys. And now its another gloomy morning here in LA, I'm listening to a mix of tunes here at work, right now on the iTUNES is, WHO "LIVE AT LEEDS." Pretty good album if you wanna get a taste of how the WHO took names live, 1970, I think, White Jumpsuit era for sure, I dont have the liner notes with me, so sorry music POLICE.
Kelly is still on tour, he should be back this week, well I hope, we have a show this SATURDAY, May 17th at the RELAX BAR. So come out and have a gay ol' time !

On a unrelating note, relating to the relation of being irrevelant, My Bloody Valentine are playing live after 16 years at the Santa Monica Civic, I'm definately going to that, thats if TicketMaster doesn't ask for an arm and both my legs, shit I'll sell popcorn if I have to to get into that thing. But anyhoo it should be a killer show, I hope...

Oh and if you love music or pretend too, you should pick up the Black Angeles new album,Directions to see a Ghost, I've heard a few tunes, and it sounds pretty bad ass, they'll be playing with Darker My Love at the Troubadour June 5th, so dont be a poser and go to that show. And on that note, Darker My Dudes are releasing a record as well, we hope this year.

Anyway over the weekend Jabels [Jackie & Gabes] went to Arizona, almost got robbed, well their humble little back house did, and I worked on a new tune. Kelley is still touring, and 2nite we're going to see our good friends play, ROCKING HORSE PEOPLE. At non other Sunset Cat Club, or as I like to call it "The Puss in Bootz Club," yah!

And dont worry you'll have that gem of a demo in your little paws soon. Oh and by the way we're thinking of going on tour this year, god willing, its gonna be rad !

Recording Revisited...

So yeah we've been recording and having a great time,y'all will enjoy the new songs, but anyhow we're done and adding the final touches to the mixes. In the mean time Kelley is on tour with his other group, and we're here in Lost Angeles writing new material. We have two shows coming up at the RELAX BAR May 17th and the UNKNOWN THEATER May30th (Gabriels b-day!). Come out to those shows, we're workin very hard to have the demos done by then so you can take that puppy home. Anyway I'm at work not workin and wishing we were on tour right now, but we all gotta pay the damn bills. Can I get a witness ?

Anyhoo you guys should check out THE ROCKIN HORSE PEOPLE this band is by far the best, and they're fun to party with and GO OFF! But yes do those guys a favor buy their album "NOTHING FOR THE ROAD" pay for their bills, cigarettes, and some damn food.

So we've been recording for the past two weekends on Saturdaze, and man o' man its been really really fun, everything's coming out great and we can't wait to bring to you guys. So stay tuned for that and just check our myspace for shows.
